Poland could pass Spain in 2027 and Italy around 2034, in output per person.
Satoria's forecast
Satoria forecast for Poland: the size of the economy per person, adjusted for price differences $94,082 in 2035, up from $55,793 in 2025 - could go either way. 80% range $40,364 to $151,238.
The International Monetary Fund stops its table in 2031, with Italy just in front. Satoria's model carries the lines on and names both years. The measure is what a country produces for each person, adjusted for price differences, not what anyone earns.

Spain in 2027. Italy around 2034.
Satoria's model carries all three lines past the year the official table ends. In 2033 Poland and Italy are almost level.
This is not your pay, and not money to spend.
It is what a country produces for each person, priced so the same shopping costs the same everywhere.
Poland is behind Spain and Italy. Both are in reach.
The International Monetary Fund's estimate for 2025 puts Poland on 55,793 international dollars (a made-up currency that buys the same in Warsaw as in Rome) per person, Spain 57,034 and Italy 63,538. The table then stops in 2031.
How close is Poland to the European average?
This measure counts what a household actually uses, including the part the state pays for.
It rests on Poland growing faster than Italy.
Take that growth difference away and the crossing leaves the 2030s.
Three things that move this line.
Our years are on the record before the Fund publishes its next table in October.
What the official numbers say, and where they stop
In the International Monetary Fund's table, read on 27 September 2026, Poland stands at 55,793 international dollars per person for 2025, Spain 57,034 and Italy 63,538.
For 2026 the Fund projects 59,792 for Poland and 65,761 for Italy. Those are projections made in advance, not figures anyone has measured.
A closer measure of what families actually use tells a slower story. Eurostat puts Poland at 88% of the European Union average in 2025, Spain on 92% and Italy on 97%.
The Fund's table ends in 2031, with Poland on 74,914 and Italy on 75,287, Italy still just in front.
What Satoria's model says happens next
On Satoria's central path Spain is still a little ahead in 2026, 59,510 against Poland's 59,220. In 2027 Poland goes past: 63,046 against 61,976.
Italy takes longer. In 2033 the two are almost level, 86,630 against 86,734. In 2034 Poland is in front for the first time.
The model was built on International Monetary Fund and World Bank data and tested on five years it had never seen. Across 51 country series its errors were about 24% below assuming no change, and it beat that benchmark on all 51.
What this number is not
This is everything an economy produces in a year, divided by its population, priced so the same basket costs the same everywhere. Nobody is paid it, and it rises when a population shrinks, which matters for Italy.
Our 80% ranges for Poland and Italy overlap in every year we forecast, and on yearly forecasts they have held the real value about 75 times in 100 in tests, not 80. Our central path crosses in 2034, and that is the most likely path, not a certainty.
What it would feel like
For a generation of Poles the map was simple: you went west or south to earn, and you came home with savings. On this measure the map changes twice in the next ten years.
What could change the course
Everything here rests on Poland growing faster than Italy. A recession in Poland, a jump in Italian productivity, or a change in how prices are compared would each move the year.
