Tested forecasts for everyday life

See what's ahead for your country.

Tap a question. Satoria's own forecasting engine answers it from real data, tested on past years.

For your country, Satoria answers everyday questions in plain words: will homes get cheaper, will we be healthier, will our country get older, will families get smaller, which jobs are growing. A question is offered only where its answer passed our tests for that country. Why trust Satoria.

Satoria explains how changes in the world could affect living costs, work and housing in 2, 5 and up to 10 years. Each explanation starts from a question, shows what is measured now, what usually moves it, Satoria's own forecast with its range, and the data and tests behind it (215 indicators, forecasts for 68 countries, data from 40 providers (17 public institutions; 15 behind the published indicators)). Every forecast is scored against what really happens, in public. 5,942 forecasts are published; 47 indicators are graded high reliability against a "no change" guess.

Explanations

For this year's inflation, Satoria's monthly update of the IMF forecast missed 34% less than the IMF's April forecast in September tests (21 years, 50 countries; smaller average absolute error, same month, monthly data in today's revised versions). The advantage comes from newer data, not from a smarter model with the same information, and a simple mechanical estimate does about as well in September. See the full comparison.
